Future goth...

Ok, so I'm pretty sure Luke is going to be my child with the highest Brava potential. This afternoon Halle and I were doing some origami. She went to run an errand with Ryan and I thought I would knock her socks off by making this cool origami frog before she returned. I gave Mia some playdough and sat her next to me at the counter and Luke was just cruising around the kitchen doing his thing. Honestly, I would take a peek at him every few minutes but I didn't think there was anything bad he could get in to. He came over and was playing on the floor right underneath me. He was being so good and he was so close I didn't suspect anything bad (and I was super consumed trying to get that stupid frog finished)! Then I finished the frog and looked down at Luke. Yikes! He had gotten into the girls' nail polish that they had stored in their craft cupboard in the kitchen. Somehow he twisted it open. I got super lucky because it's water based and washes off really easily. It was all over our hardwood floor, his hands, shirt, jeans and face. Ryan thought it was great that he was actually wearing his only black T-shirt at the time. It's a nice look. I'm hoping this isn't a sign of things to come.

Aaron's children

For Ava's birthday, we took the kids to the zoo. We had a good time but that is irrelevant to what happened on our way home. Our car is black, it sucks up the sun and makes it more than warm. Bryn realizes this as soon as we get into the car and immediately begins complaining, "TOoo sweaty, too sweaty!" Bryn is Aaron's child, she can not take the heat and does not like to be sweaty. So much so that we can barely get her to strap on her seat belt, because I'm sure you are all aware that seat belts make you sweaty. Sweaty seat belt, sweaty car: these are not Bryn's friends.

Of course we turn the air on and start cooling down the car. The back row has its own climate control, it is on Lauren's side...if it were on Bryn's side the knobs would already be broken. Per our instructions, Lauren turns their air conditioning to cool full blast.

About half way home, Bryn starts crying real tears, "Too sweaty. TOoo sweaty. Lauren turn the heater off." Yes, that's right, Aaron, I mean Lauren had secretly turned their air to heat and was sweating Bryn out. When we realized what Lauren was doing to her, Aaron and I could not control our own tears of laughter--Lauren is 100% Aaron.

Messycat Ava is now 2

She likes to kick, stretch and kick. She's two. Two years old. (oh and she likes to eat ice cream, as evidenced above.)

I didn't prepare a speech... I hope I don't leave anyone out!

I would like to start this acceptance speech with a few shout-outs; 1.) to "French's" fine mustard for producing such a fine product (with what we suspect may contain addictive substances that screams to little children) that has our little Zoe going swoony over it. 2.) To our poor/lazy parenting skills, whichever you prefer. We allowed our 3 year old to roam the house while we slept. 3.) To "Folex" cleaning supplies (Thank you Sunny for the suggestion) that cleaned our carpets famously, with the aide of a little elbow grease.

And lastly, a moment of silence for the fallen comrade who took one to the team... the white bunny. There was no saving her beautiful white fur... There was no saving her cute pink nose... she so generously took the heat and gave her life for our furniture, and Zoe's PJs. She will be with us always... looking down and watching over us. We thank you white bunny.

Thank You, Thank You, we look forward to many more moments with the Brava awards. We feel honored to have been the first. This month's "Break Out Hulligan." There was many contenders, all the honorable mentions were amazing moments. We feel privilaged to have even been in the same category... OH! They are telling me my time is up.. here comes the music. A few more things, what is going on in Darfur is horrible we can use this platform to make a change, and put our fame to use. Also, a shout-out to God watching over all of us, no matter our background. Go Obama! and please recycle- we can all go green! Peace... we love you all.

Bryn woes

Bryn has nibbled her glitter precious princess Jasmine into a quadriplegic (pix will follow soon). She loves to gnaw on all plastics and woods. She was pleading with me to get her a new one because she only has Belle left now that Jasmine is in hospice. I told her she still had a Snow White. She refuted, "Mom, I can't play with her, Snow White is an iPod!" (She meant tripod..Ava ripped off one of Snow White's legs and the princess is still waiting for medical treatment.)

And the Feb/March Winner is...

Zoe for the mustard. This beats all because of the time required for clean up, the smell, the number of things damaged and the genius to get into the fridge while the parents SLEPT. Well done Zoe for achieving the first brava award. Look for something to arrive in the mail.

Honorable Mentions:
Ben, the key master
Bryn, the makeup artist
Lauren, the hair stylist
Ava, the fresh maker
Mia, the only hope (at a brava) for the kansas wilsons
Luke, the cute mess
Emily, the accomplice
Evie, Addy, Halle, Jackson, Quinn, and Morgan: this month's angel children

Luke's Cupcake Overdose

At first there was a LITTLE hesitation...

but bite by bite he almost reaches overdose...

then he musters up enough strength for a few more bites before he polishes it off. We were proud of him. If you want to see a slideshow with the whole process, click below:
