A cute one

My sweet neighbor thought it would be a good idea to give Mia a pudding pop. I'm not sure who liked it more-her mouth or her shirt.

Not technically a brava but...

It was so white trash, I couldn't resist adding it.

Same day as Desitin...

The Bishop brought over a fake cake frosted with real frosting. Mia loved it.

Mia finds the desitin...

I don't know what she thought this was-sunscreen? lotion? She didn't mind having it on her lips, though. Yum! Yum!

a visiting teaching nightmare

Ok, so today, I went visiting teaching with Bryn, Ava, and Morgan in tow. First teachee's house, no problems, angel children. Second house, the girls seemed to be playing well with my teachee's (Suzanne) kids, no worries...until we were ready to leave.

I had been keeping track of Bryn and Ava until about five to ten minutes before, and the kids were all playing on a lower level of the house. When I went down to get them, me and my partner both realized our children were no longer with the other kids. (my partner's child is the same age as Ava.) We began to scour the house. Then we heard our Suzanne scream out, "NO. Oh no!"

We immediately run upstairs to Suzanne's bedroom. (Suzanne left her makeup bag on the floor next to her full length mirror.) Bryn, obviously, and her two partners in crime, had opened the makeup and Bryn had painted Ava and Bergen in a pallet of lip gloss, mascara, foundation, hair gel, and moisturizer. Luckily, the children had not got any on the carpet or anything else...but they were covered. And I mean covered. Ava's face looked like an oil painting. There was no visible skin showing on her face. The pictures are from after wiping at least 2/3 of the make up off. Yeah, that glowing, not to many kids can do that! I was mortified. Suzanne was a good sport. Naturally, Bryn took her an apology and an gift certificate to Nordstrom later that day.

sidebar: I washed the girls as soon as we got home. Scrubbed them, and Ava's hair is still greasy shiny. gross. This is the exact definition of a Brava.

"fancy" morgan

(This story happened back in December, but it's a bryn story and I wanted to post some pix of Morgan for those of you who haven't seen her in awhile. These pix are a week old.)

I was making dinner while Morgan slept in her bouncer on the floor. I turned to check on her and realized that she glittered. I looked closer and realized it wasn't glitter all over her, but salt. Salt in her hair, on her face, clumped in her neck--gross. I immediately knew this was Bryn's doing. So I asked Bryn, "Bryn do we eat Morgan?"
"No," she replied.
"Then why would you sprinkle salt on her?"
"Mom, I just wanted to help Morgan to be fancy."

Welcome to The Brava Awards

the brava (bray-va) awards is a place for all wilson clans to out do each other in [true] crazy kid stories. We will also accept funny or cute kid stories. Awards may be given, so make sure to post your stories.

Contest rules and guidelines: if you feel your child just had a bryn (insane or disgusting), ava (messy), or brava (combo of messy insanity) moment, post your story. submit as many as you see fit, old or new.

All submissions must be true stories. Pictures, of course, are always encouraged. If there are actual tears on either parents part, this will get extra street cred when judging occurs. So make sure you cover all your details.

At the end of each month, Brooke may (0r may not) send out a brava award for the best submission. Yes this is totally subjective, but I think we all know how well brooke does on being subjective--I haven't won the AR fantasy league yet. (do you like how I flip back and forth from referring to myself in the third person?)

As always, we here at the Brava Award Institute of Insanity, don't hope you have any of these moments...but when you do, we're here for you.

cheers and happy blogging.
